Bow Common Lane, E3

A former reclaimed brick merchants, the site is situated 5 minutes south of Mile End tube station and set back from Bow Common Lane. The yard is part of the Ropery Street Conservation Area and the building adjacent to the entrance to the site is the only locally listed building in the area. The surrounding vernacular is predominantly residential and most of the buildings are two to three storeys built in the mid-late 19th Century.

The site benefits from a planning consent for a sensitively designed mixed use development, comprising 8 residential flats and a stand-alone commercial building. The corner of the site fronting Mossford Street is to be built in a manner that replicates and reinstates the Victorian terraced houses along the street.
